For the special attention of those who plan to take the new water connection

 The Jaljeevan Mission project has been launched in all the districts of Kerala to provide new water connection to all the families in the Grama Panchayat limits of Kerala with 90% subsidy.


 

Currently, many plumbers and some unauthorized agents charge between Rs 7,500 and Rs 25,000 for a new water connection from the Water Authority.


Many places do not provide accurate documents or receipts for this purchase. When making a new water connection in this way, consumers fall prey to many types of fraud. Necessary people are reluctant to take up new water connection as such unauthorized people charge exorbitant amounts on many items.


 

 Through the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme, all rural households in Kerala can avail of a new water connection by paying only a nominal 10% or Beneficiary contribution of Rs. 450 / - irrespective of APL or BPL.


 

What is Jal Jeevan Mission Project ....


The Central Government contributes 45% and the State Government contributes 30%


Grama Panchayath 15% outlay Total 90% Government subsidy and 10% beneficiary outlay The plan is to provide clean drinking water through pipe to all 50 lakh rural households in Kerala within three years.



 How will the new water connection be taken through this project?


 

As this is a scheme for the entire rural household, all the applicants will get water connection on priority basis.
